Designed to accompany Brave Enough to Risk Change, to Live Free: A Story of Healing and Hope, a transparent personal story of a journey from shame to freedom in Christ, this workbook is a spiritual formation toolkit to help you heal as you learn to walk daily in the Spirit.  

Ten transformative lessons incorporate Bible study, journaling prompts, Scripture memorization, and worship music referrals.  

Through the journey, participants will: 

  • Identify default behaviors formed around lies that have built a false belief system about themselves, others, and God 
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit and how he empowers them to overcome the pain and lies so they can choose not to be victims and slaves to sin 
  • Experience healing from the trauma, freedom from the lies, and the blessings of walking in truth.  

Used in a group experience, this workbook will foster a transformational, Christlike community that will bind hearts together, but it can also be used with benefit by individuals.

Mary Armstrong has a BA in organizational leadership from Northwest University, and an MA in pastoral counseling from Regent University. A certified Christian counselor, trauma-informed coach, and professional life coach, she has dedicated thirty-five years to full-time vocational ministry, serving alongside her husband, Ray. Their church in Sumner, Washington, has grown from twelve members to over two thousand. A frequent speaker at women’s and leadership events, she is also the creator of the twenty-week Brave Enough to Risk Change, to Live Free Workbook curriculum. A mother of three and a grandmother of eight, Mary loves photography, gardening, reading, traveling, and being outdoors with her family.
