Sharon was enjoying her dream job, when suddenly life took an unexpected turn that turned her well-ordered life upside down. She made the bold decision to stop running on the fast—paced Chicago treadmill and catch her breath. While processing a life review, she recalled memories of difficult events, including struggling with physical health issues, a painful divorce, a radical career change, betrayal, moving to a different state, death of a loved one, and becoming an overnight caregiver for family. How powerfully Sharon shared her pain and joy and God’s amazing love in her restoration journey bringing the reader to beautiful Adirondacks. In my life, I have been struggling with deep pain, disappointment, discouragement, fear .. the list can go on… and Sharon’s book gave me the hope I needed pointing me to God’s promises and His unchanging love for me. I keep going back to her book often whenever I need a reminder to focus on God and His promises. I love how much uplifting scripture Sharon incorporated in her writing emphasizing God’s faithfulness. It encourages me to share my testimony and emphasize the TRUST I have in God and my growing relationship with Him. I cannot wait for her next book.

What a faith building and timely read! This is truly an enjoyable book that has mountain high impact and depth! I appreciate Sharon’s transparency, vulnerability, and encouragement. Her open reflections inspire and challenge me not deflect the boulders that have been holding me back from my own climb with God. I can’t help but be inspired to soberly face where I really am on my journey (exhausted at times and out of breath). Sharon’s words refresh and motivate me to make the decision to press upward, move ahead past the boulders, and trust God fully. I loved the way scripture was peppered throughout to reinforce Truth. I felt constantly reminded that I am dearly loved by my Creator and He is with me always leading the way. At the same time, I am convicted to make changes . Sharon’s example of faith shines! She truly illuminates the hope we have when we trust God and follow Him. She points us to Him on each path and around each corner of this amazing climb! Well done! I highly recommend this book. You will feel as though you are beside the author as she lovingly points out God’s truth. Through her words you can visualize the splendor of His creation along the way. I plan to read this again and again. The study guide is an essential and life- building element that should mot be missed. It encourages deep self reflection and leaves you with so much hope. The two together are powerful and will draw you so close to God. The higher you climb , the deeper intimacy with God. Thank you Sharon. Your books helped me to remember who i am with him. I feel compelled to keep climbing higher and higher despite boulders I must bypass along the way. I have renewed faith he will get me where He desires me to Go. With Him. To Him.

Sharon Todd vividly captures the beauty of the Adirondacks while sharing her journey with God through the joys and trials of life. Each chapter is full of personal stories, helpful scripture and thought-provoking questions. There were so many examples of seeing the Lord’s hand in her life as she turned to Him. Although God doesn’t promise a problem-free life, Sharon reminds us that He is with us every step of the way…if we would only turn to Him. I found this book to be easy to read, very applicable to my own life and a huge encouragement. To God be the glory!

Sharon’s beautiful book cover captured my attention. I love the Adirondack Mountains and the majesty of these mountains reinforced God’s magnificence in her story. She writes with splendor and detail and I felt like I took this mountain climb with her. I realized that her story could be mine or yours as she prayed for clarity and peace. Her need to hear from God resonated. As she faced physical challenges, fatigue, and nagging uncertainties, I appreciated that she quoted uplifting Scripture as she leaned on God in her weakness. Sharon’s Spiritual maturity allowed her to trust God. Her reliance and faith brought her to personal victory and freedom. This literary treasure glorifies God. It is a gateway of hope and encouragement. Also available is Sharon’s study guide entitled, “Arise, and Climb the Mountain, Transformational Trek Study Guide.” Both are excellent resources for personal growth, small group instruction, leadership studies, and ministry.

One of the elements I appreciate most in a book like this is humility and transparency by the author. Sharon Todd brings both in her inspiring book where she shares her journey with us. As she explores some of the joys and wounds in her life, she captures the beauty of a place dear to her heart weaving in the timeless truths of the word. I highly recommend this to all looking for hope on the journey.

When I received this book I never knew I needed it. It was such an inspirational book. I couldn’t help but cry tears of both joy and pent up sadness. It was a reminder I am not alone. In my valleys or on “an island” God is always with me, as well as when I am soaring above the mountain tops! I can not recommend this book enough. Pure love of God and a beautiful reminder of His faithfulness.

  19. Jodie Beauchamp

Sharon’s book is both a delight and encouragement! She shares her heart and her amazing trust and faithfulness in Jesus Christ through the trials and joys that He walks her through! Climbing the peaks, walking though the valleys, all the while He never lets her go! She uses His Word, His Promises as they appear in the scriptures and applies to her life and so real for anyone who picks up this book to read it. The study book, the Trek, allows us to journey along the mountains or roads we are traveling with the hope and encouragement of our Faithful LORD! Stretching and strengthening my faith muscles as I read and re-read this book to face the obstacles in my own life entrusting Him in every detail as He reminds me who I am, and how much He loves me too! A must-read! All glory and honor to God! (Just as the author so humbly points us all to Him!)

What a timely book- Sharon Todd brings to light a message of hope and inspiration. As Sharon states, “ This world may be constantly changing, but the good news of Jesus Christ remains unwavering and true.” This book and the author’s message comes at a time that the world needs these words the most. Wonderful book, wonderful message.

  22. Samer Elias

I love this book and it is easily becoming my new favorite book. The book has a wonderful abundant inclusion of applicable scripture verses to lean on in different and difficult real life circumstances. Including many and relevant scripture verses makes it easily relatable and applicable to everyone even with different mountains and trials. It pricks the heart and makes you reflect and examine yourself, relationships, marriage, sin and the heart and thoughts. As a husband it made me examine these points in my life and my obedience to Christ and His commandment to love my wife and others and my priorities.
Whether you are just searching for answers,
or want to change direction or make difficult decisions, or you are in the middle of life battles, or a person looking for
a new relationship with Jesus or a mature follower of Christ, this book will speak to your heart and if you let it, it will be a wonderful and powerful guide and blessing toward a renewed life.
Praise the Lord for blessing the author with such a gift and enriching the author with such discernment through the Holy Spirit to author this book.

Sharon Eleanor Todd beautifully and skillfully connects the challenges of a personal mountain hike experience to the obstacles and disappointments in our lives. Sharon shares intimately from her own experiences of trials and dreams unfulfilled, and leaves the reader full of encouragement and hope as they navigate their own journeys. Faithfully pointing us to the truths in scripture, Sharon guides as to see how God can use our failures to strengthen our faith, turn broken dreams into blessings, and help us to push beyond overwhelming obstacles to be a victorious overcomer.

  24. Donna Marie

Sharon’s Todd’s beautifully written text offers encouragement and wisdom. In Arise and Climb the Mountain, she draws analogies between summiting a peak and overcoming life’s challenges. Rich with reference to scripture, the reader is reminded of how God’s promises feed the soul and give strength to manage any obstacles life may present. I highly recommend reading Arise and Climb the Mountain to anyone who is facing a challenge or wants to be ready with a deeper understanding of how faith can bring you peace.
