Nine years ago, Redemption Press was born out of a need, inspiration, and bold faith.

Redeemed means to be "bought back," and Redemption Press fits in that category. The independent publishing company was redeemed out of the ashes of the highly successful WinePress Publishing that set industry standards for Christian independent publishing for decades before it fell into the wrong hands and died.

When Athena Dean Holtz responded to the pleas of authors abandoned by failed publishing companies, Redemption Press was born. She began the fledgling company with faith in a faithful God, non-existent funds, borrowed equipment, and a desire to use her experience to help authors get in print and stay in print.

Nine years later, Redemption Press has earned recognition and a reputation for excellence in independent publishing services.

Redemption is an apt description for the evolving, hybrid Christian-owned publishing company.

After COVID hit, and in-person writer’s conferences were shut down, Athena launched the popular She Writes for Him franchise with online conferences, Boot Camp training, and marketing resources.

Redemption’s quality in Christian publishing is being nationally recognized with writing and editing awards Redemption Press authors and editors have received in various genres.

A good name must be earned. Led by Athena and Ross Holtz, Redemption’s talented, and cohesive team has been recognized as a Best Christian Workplace by Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI) in 2021 and 2022.

To strengthen and grow Redemption Press’s future, Athena and Dr. Ross Holtz have added Kelley and Carol Tetzlaff, and Shelly Brown, as minority co-owners.

The Redemption story goes on with the announcement of a new publishing imprint, Cole Street Press, with Kathy Ide, a well-known industry professional, as managing editor.
