Mark Richard knows firsthand the transforming power of Christ. For decades, he lived in the grip of sexual sin and identity confusion while outwardly appearing successful and fulfilled. But beneath the surface, he was spiritually bankrupt—until the grace and truth of God’s Word broke through the deception and set him free. Surrendering a decades-long same-sex relationship, Mark encountered the holiness of Jesus and the daily renewal of the Holy Spirit.  Today, Mark is a steward of Scripture and a servant of others, equipping believers to walk in purity and wholeness through Christ. He ministers to men and women wrestling with sexual sin, as well as to families and church leaders longing to respond with both conviction and compassion. His teaching blends biblical depth, pastoral insight, and lived testimony, helping readers anchor their lives in God’s unchanging design.  Mark’s ministry, through his website and social media, has reached thousands across the U.S. and around the world. He makes his home in Toledo, Ohio, near his daughter and granddaughter.

  1. Theresa Sutcliffe

This book is truly incredible! The author shows from beginning to end how our culture tries to redefine love to justify their actions, and this contradicts God‘s Word!
Mark does this in love yet firmness and always points to the Word of God as the way to live our lives and model our sexuality. If there’s ever any confusion about the way God made you or the decisions that you make in your sexuality, this book will give you the answers that you’re looking for.

  2. Sandra L Laytart

This book is masterfully written and thoughtfully structured. For years to come, I believe SACRED SEXUALITY will serve as a valuable tool for a diverse range of readers, young and old, singles and married, teachers and students. Mark addresses a wide range of common questions about sexuality from a biblical perspective, making this book a valuable resource for many readers. We’ve all been impacted by sexual sin; we’re either in the process of healing, have been healed, need healing, or know someone who does. The book provides guidance and support for those navigating these challenges.
Mark presents his material through the tapestry of God’s Word, referencing nearly 200 scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments. His personal testimony is woven throughout, adding relatability and authenticity to the message.
I especially like how Mark challenges common cultural narratives such as “born this way,” “love is love,” and “judge not” and how he empowers readers to craft their own personal “Faith is Action Statement”—a practical tool for personal growth and overcoming obstacles.
SACRED SEXUALITY stands out for its practical approach and engaging style. Mark invites readers to reflect and take meaningful steps forward through guided questions, journaling prompts, and opportunities for personal application.
Mark’s poem “Lured: The War For Your Soul” in chapter 7 beautifully ties together the book’s themes and offers insights not only into sexual sin but also many other struggles such as alcoholism, substance abuse, overeating, and compulsive behaviors. By applying these same principles and teachings in this book, readers can find victory in these other common challenges, as well!
In summary, SACRED SEXUALITY offers answers rooted in God’s Word and practical yet powerful tools to help bring understanding, healing and true transformation. Mark Richards dispels all the confusion and clearly defines how we are to live a life of sacred sexuality.
