Thrown from the path of a swerving vehicle, Hazel is miraculously spared. Her older brother Emmett is not so lucky. Right before she passes out, Hazel catches sight of the stranger who pushed her out of the way, a dark hooded figure with glowing hands. But of the two, why save her? 

As Emmett is overcome with pain and anger, Hazel’s guilt pushes her to find answers, and hopefully, a way to help him before it’s too late. Her search leads her to a doorway that opens to an unseen realm layered on top of earth.
