Product Description

On a visit to her aunt’s house, Jasmine, a little girl who is Deaf, is eager to show she remembers her family’s telling of the story of creation. With her Aunt Shiloh and her brother, Joshua, as her audience, she uses both free verse and American Sign Language to describe what happened on each day. She paints a picture of the world’s beginning, when it was dark and empty, and continues to follow the events as they are told in Genesis. She concludes by sharing that God built it all out of His love for us.

But this story doesn’t come to an end on God’s day of rest; instead, readers are reminded of God’s kindness and encouraged to find this kindness within themselves.

Gentle, lyrical wording shows how God spoke the world and everything upon it into existence. Illustrations teaching readers how to sign the story in American Sign Language are included throughout.
