The Kindhearted Raven

The Kindhearted Raven befriends Willa when she is a little girl. “Be yourself,” he says in a dream. “Be yourself and see what happens.” 

“Myself?” Willa questions because she doesn’t know who she is.  

Willa endeavors to earn her father’s love by being good enough. As an adult with children of her own, she enjoys the fruit of those efforts. Willa is a good person. Just ask Sophie at the deli. She knows Willa and appreciates her unique personality, despite her imperfections.  

But when Willa meets Megan, the in-group leader at church, her defining challenge begins. Megan’s warped philosophy of perfectionism influences her interpretation of God’s Word, and Willa must choose between accepting Megan’s approach, to remain a member of the in-group, or speaking the truth. Will Willa summon the courage to confront false teaching? Is she good enough to be brave?
