Vernal Lind is the author of seven historical novels: Beyond Those Hills, Beyond the Storm, Beyond the Darkness, Beyond This Home, Beyond Tomorrow, The Future Wears a Strange Face, and When June Comes. Vernal grew up on a farm in beautiful west-central Minnesota, where he attended school in a one-room country schoolhouse. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in education, English, and language arts at St. Cloud State University. After teaching English for thirty-six years, Vernal retired and returned to his home area of Battle Lake, where he is active in church and the community. He is single but remains closely connected to his family. He is the author of seven historical novels and has received the “Writer of the Year” award from Write to Publish. A number of his articles and stories have appeared in magazines such as Grit, Lifewise, Teachers of Vision, Connections, and several anthologies.
