B. J. Garrett is a speaker and award-winning author. She holds an associate of divinity degree from the BMA Theological Seminary from Jacksonville, TX, and has served in church ministries as a youth director, singles director, missions director, and women’s ministry team leader. She previously served as the executive director for the Christ-centered Abortion Recovery & Education. Loving all things Redemption Press, rarely without a diet Dr. Pepper in hand, a bag of strawberry halls in her purse and a stash of M&M’s never far, BJ and her husband, Jay, currently live in East Texas and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
What is your favorite verse?
Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
This is the verse that first offered me hope when processing through all of my childhood trauma, my two abortions and all of life’s challenges that have come since.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
This verse has given me the freedom to not “need” to understand the why’s behind the hurts and simply trust God.
