About The Author

Linda D. Moore
If you are anything like Linda Moore, you have stood in front of the self-help section at Barnes & Noble scanning book titles, attended twelve-step meetings, weekend seminars, off-site retreats, numerous workshops, private counseling, group therapy, personal development training, spent thousands of dollars on coaching with some of the biggest names in the industry, etc., always observing from the sidelines, watching others and contemplating life from a distance. Where might you fit in? Maybe over here? Maybe over there?
Unabashedly Christian now, Linda lived without Christ until she was 52 so she knows both sides. At 71, while writing her story, she realized she had not attended any counseling sessions since accepting Christ almost twenty years ago. This is Linda's journey to becoming fully authentic and transparent, available and approachable, to stand before audiences, write publicly, and to allow you to know who she is and for whom she lives.
Before retiring in 2011, her career with spent with a major commercial bank as VP and Premier Banking Client Services Manager. Linda and her husband live in Richland, WA. They have one daughter and two grandchildren.

Quotes from... When Love Shows Up
This book is continuing proof that, even if your purpose was squelched when you were little, it still resides in you! Let God bring it out.
Yes, it’s a slippery slope for all of us born sinners, but what a job God can do when He cleanses and purifies and creates righteousness out of the rubbish in you and me. And someday, you will be as white as snow. Can you even imagine it? You and I will once again be virgins.
Under the surface, the family struggled. I wore a happy face; that was my role. I didn’t want anyone to know we were any different from any other happy family. I spent a lot of time crying in the back of my closet, where even my family didn’t know of my tears.
My father lovingly called me Brat #1, a title I wore proudly. No matter what, I knew he loved me, and I could count on him. He could straighten things out in one sentence. I remember wanting my first husband back after I’d divorced him. I told my dad I didn’t want to go on without him. Dad’s response: “His life isn’t worth your life.” That was it. Case dismissed.
I grew up terrified of my mother. We never talked. I tried to stay out of her way as much as possible. One day she would come home and give me a hug and rub my back. The next day she would come home throwing teakettles.
The condition of my new heart has determined the condition of my new life. I learned to speak from my heart, and I continued to cry. In fact, my goal was to cry every day because I wanted to speak from my heart every day.
My first abortion almost didn’t happen. My boyfriend and I were on the way out the door to drive to my parents’ home to let them know we were getting married. But just as we were about to leave, a call came in that there was a doctor willing to perform an abortion in Seattle, a four-hour drive away. We drove to Seattle instead.
