Write with Others in Mind
Writing Wise: Write With Others in Mind
As writers, it's easy to become consumed with the page in front of us. We worry about finding the right words, perfecting every sentence, or wondering whether our writing is good enough.
But somewhere along the way, it's helpful to remember why we started.
Your book was never just about being written. It was always meant to be read.
Every chapter you write is an opportunity to encourage someone, answer a question, offer hope, or point a reader closer to Christ. When your focus shifts from yourself to the person on the other side of the page, writing becomes less about performance and more about serving.
The most meaningful writing begins with a heart that seeks to serve its reader.
As you continue writing, ask God to help you see the person He has entrusted to your message. Their story may be different from yours, but He knows exactly what they need, and He can use your words to meet them there.
Keep writing with compassion. Keep writing with purpose. Someone is waiting for the hope only your story can share.
Reflect & Write
Writing Prompt
Picture one reader who might pick up your book. What are they carrying today? What burden, question, or longing might they have? Write a paragraph directly to that person.
Journaling Question
When you think about your writing, do you focus more on how it reflects on you or how it serves your reader? How might God be inviting you to shift that perspective?
Scripture to Hold Onto
"Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up." 1 Thessalonians 5:11, NIV
