This Week’s Tip: Update the first line of your bio everywhere you show up

Sometimes the biggest shifts begin with just one sentence. And for many of us, that sentence is the first line of our bio.

That one sentence might be on your:

Website
Speaker or author one-sheet
Amazon author page
Social media profiles
Podcast guest forms
Email introductions

But here’s the catch…

Most of us haven’t touched it in years.

And yet, it’s the first impression people get of our voice, message, and ministry.

???? Here’s What to Do This Week:

Find the places where your bio lives online. (Think: Amazon author page, podcast guest sheet, Facebook “About” section, website header.)
Read your first line out loud. Ask yourself: “Does this still reflect who I am and what I do?”
Rewrite it to reflect your message today. Make it clear. Make it personal. Make it aligned with the season you’re in now.

Examples:

Before: “Jane Smith is a wife, mom, and speaker.”

After: “Jane Smith helps women rediscover their worth and walk in God’s purpose after deep loss.”

That one line sets the tone for everything else people see.

It’s a fast, high-impact update that refreshes your online presence. One sentence can change how someone sees your entire message.
It helps the right readers recognize themselves in your words. Clarity attracts. And the first line is your magnet.
It creates consistency across platforms. No matter where someone finds you, they’ll hear the same voice, the same mission, the same invitation.

This isn’t about a total overhaul.
It’s a small shift that can make a big difference.
Because the person you are today is worth introducing clearly.
