Invite curiosity with a single chapter teaser

This Week’s Tip: Invite curiosity with a single chapter teaser

You poured your heart into every page of your book. But let’s be real: as much as we hope they do, not everyone reads cover to cover right away.

BUT ... sometimes, one chapter is all it takes to capture a reader’s heart and show them your book is exactly what they need.

That’s why this week’s tip is so simple, yet so powerful:

Write a post that starts with: “If you only read one chapter from my book, let it be chapter ____.”

???? Here’s What to Do This Week:

1. Pick the chapter that holds your book’s heartbeat. Which chapter feels like the message inside the message? The one where your reader might underline every sentence or whisper, “This is exactly what I needed.”

2. Write a short, authentic post or email introducing that chapter. You can say something like:

"If you only read one chapter from my book, let it be Chapter 4. It’s the chapter where I finally share the turning point. The raw, honest moment when God met me in the middle of my mess and gave me a brand new perspective on healing that transformed my life."

3. End with an invitation to respond. For example ...

“Have you read it yet? I’d love to hear what it stirred in you.”
Or
“What chapter from a book changed you most deeply?”

???? Why This Works:

  • It sparks curiosity without feeling salesy. People instantly want to know: “What’s in that chapter? Why that one?”

  • It positions you as an encourager, not just an author. You’re helping them navigate, not just pushing them to buy.

  • It invites meaningful conversation. When you highlight one chapter, it sparks deeper curiosity and makes readers eager to explore more.

This week, try it!
Pick that chapter.
Write the post, or send the email (or both).
Invite your readers in.

You might be surprised how many people comment, “Now I really want to read it!” or “I just went back to reread that chapter. Thank you!”

We'd love for you to comment on this post and let us know what tip(s) have been your favorite so far.

Until next week, keep showing up with boldness and authenticity.

As always ... cheering you on,
