Write a post that helps your reader say, “Me too.”

It's Monday, and around here that means one practical author-growth tip you can actually use, without adding more overwhelm to your week.

This Week's Focus: Write a post that helps your reader say, "Me too."

Last week, we talked about sharing the story behind one chapter in your book and helping readers connect with the heart behind your message.

This week, we're shifting the focus a bit. Instead of talking about what's behind your book, we're thinking about what may be going on inside your reader.

Sometimes the post that connects most deeply is the one that makes someone stop and think, "Yes. That's exactly how I feel." Not because you impressed them, or because you explained everything perfectly. But simply because you helped them feel seen.

Why This Matters

Some of the strongest connections happen when a reader sees their own thoughts, fears, questions, or struggles reflected in your words. That "me too" moment matters.

It helps people lower their guard, and even more importantly, it builds trust. It reminds your reader they are not the only one struggling, grieving, questioning, waiting, starting over, or trying to believe God in the middle of real life.

A "me too" post helps your reader recognize, "This author understands where I am. Maybe this message really is for me."

What to Do This Week

Write a short post that names something your reader may be feeling but rarely says out loud.

Use this simple flow:

  1. Name the hidden feeling.

  2. Let them know they're not alone.

  3. Offer one gentle truth or word of encouragement.

As always, try to keep this simple. You simply want to create a moment where your reader feels recognized, encouraged, and a little less alone.

Simple Post Starters - You can begin with something like:

  • Maybe you've never said this out loud, but…

  • If you've ever felt this way, you're not the only one…

  • There's a kind of tired that doesn't always show on the outside…

  • Sometimes the hardest part is…

  • I wonder if someone needs to hear this today…

Example:

Maybe you've never said this out loud, but you're tired of feeling behind.

Behind in your calling.

Behind in your healing.

Behind in your writing.

Behind in the life you thought you'd be living by now.

If that's you, take a deep breath.

You are not late to what God is doing in your life.

You may not be where you thought you'd be, but that doesn't mean God has stopped working. Some seasons are slower than we hoped, but slow does not mean wasted.

Today, ask God to show you one small step of obedience right in front of you.

Then take it with Him.

Where to Use It - You can share this as:

• A Facebook post

• An email to your list

• A short blog post

• A caption with a simple graphic

• A starting point for a short video

• A conversation starter in a private group

This Week's Challenge

Write one "me too" post for your reader.

Before you write it, ask yourself: What is my reader feeling that they may not have the words to say?

Then give them those words with kindness, clarity, and hope.

Question for you … What is one feeling your reader may be carrying but rarely says out loud? Please comment below and share with us. We'd love to hear who God has placed on your heart this week.

Cheering you on,
Shelly, Athena & Carol

P.S. Have a book idea stirring? Whether you've published with us before, still on the fence, or you're just beginning to wonder what that could look like, we'd love to hear about it. Click here to Explore Publishing with Redemption Press
