Devastation in Mountain Measure: Bringing Victory from Sorrow-A Story of God’s Faithfulness

About The Book

A three-day medical clinic in Guatemala, organized by Living Water Teaching in 1998 to provide free services and to share the love of Jesus, resulted in seven thousand people receiving medical care and fifteen hundred giving their lives to Christ. Living Water founders Jim and Marion Zirkle were inspired by the clinic’s success—and had no idea that this would be their last time serving Christ together.

On the fourth and final flight out, the plane transporting eighteen Living Water staff and volunteers from the medical clinic crashed in the mountains of Guatemala. Eleven died, including Marion’s husband, son, and son-in-law. Unimaginable grief and dark days followed for Marion, but God’s grace enabled her to put one foot in front of the other.

With grit and grace, Devastation in Mountain Measure chronicles Marion’s redemptive story—from her calling to be a missionary at age fifteen, through the founding of Living Water Teaching, to her reliance on God to continue her calling after the death of her family members and the loss of her partner in love, life, and ministry.
