Bulk Sales — The Hidden Path to Moving Hundreds (or Thousands) of Copies

This Week’s Tip: Bulk Sales — The Hidden Path to Moving Hundreds (or Thousands) of Copies

We actually covered this way back in Weekly Tip #2, but it’s just too good not to revisit. This time, we’re going deeperbecause bulk sales remain one of the most effective (and often overlooked) ways to multiply your reach and impact.

Most authors think of selling their book one reader at a time. And yes, those single copies matter. But here’s a little secret: sometimes the fastest way to multiply your impact is through one conversation that leads to hundreds of books in readers’ hands.

That’s the power of bulk sales.

When a church, ministry, nonprofit, college, or business sees your book as a resource for their people, they don’t just buy one—they buy in stacks. Ten. Fifty. Even hundreds.

And the best part? You don’t need a marketing degree to make this happen. You just need to take the first step.

???? Here’s What to Do This Week:

  1. Write down 5 organizations your book could serve (churches, Bible study groups, ministries, schools, nonprofits, etc.).
  2. Draft a short, warm message that begins with their mission and shows how your book could support it. Example: “I noticed your church is focusing on marriage this fall—my book was written to help couples grow stronger together. May I send you a copy to see if it could serve your group?”
  3. Offer a bulk option (10+, 25+, 50+) and highlight the impact: “This isn’t just a book, it’s a resource your community can use together.”
  4. Send your first email, or make your first call. Don’t wait for perfect wording, pray for extra boldness or courage, and simply start the conversation.

???? Why This Works:

  • One “yes” from an organization can equal months of individual book sales.
  • Groups are always looking for fresh, relevant resources that meet their people’s needs.
  • It shifts your book from being “a product” to being “an impactful resource.”

Not everyone will say yes—and that’s okay. A “no” isn’t a rejection of you; it just means the timing or fit isn’t right. Keep reaching out until you hear your first “yes.” That one yes can open the door to dozens—or even hundreds—of readers experiencing your book together.

Try it this week. Write down those 5 names, start with reaching out to just one. You might be surprised how a single connection can multiply your message far beyond what you could do alone.

As always … cheering you on,
Shelly, Athena & Carol
